These Talking Walls
Five Skits for Sunday Schools
by Michael J. Hotchkiss

About the Plays: Know the phrase, “if these walls could talk”? In this skits, they can. “These Talking Walls” skits are set in a Christian church social hall and, later, a living room, where the walls tell all, as part of a 3 -skit grouping.

These Talking Walls I
“Listen”

Characters:
West Wall
East Wall
Ceiling
Floor

The Place: A Christina church social hall.
The Time: The present.

From the Plays:
West Wall: East Wall, people say all the time: “If these walls could talk” but little do they know we can when no one is listening.
East Wall: Yeah, West Wall. They’d be surprised at what we walls have seen and heard over the centuries--the books of history we could write.
West Wall: Somehow we were chosen to be walls in the social hall of a Christian church and have gotten an eyeful and earful. North and South Walls , ironically, choose to be unsociable and not speak. . . .
East Wall: But I’m here to tell you some of these youth are not always kind to each other. If they were honest, they would tell you that they do not always treat each other well.

These Talking Walls II
“Give Us Your Ear
Characters:
East Wall
West Wall
Window

The Place: A Christian church social hall.
The Time: The present.

These Talking Walls III
“Could This Be Your House?”

Characters
North Wall
South Wall:
Sofa

The Place: A living room of a Christian family home where the walls talk to each other and confide their deepest thoughts about their residents. Could this be your house?
The Time: The present

The Carrot Chronicles
Another Sunday School Skit
by Michael J. Hotchkiss

About the Play: Can Gail carefully confide in Gary about her affection concerning a certain creation
called a carrot? Certainly. Crazy confusion continues, but, consequently, correctness concludes
this caper of the carrot chronicles.

Characters:
Gail
Gary

The Place: Any room.
The Time: The present

Water, Water
Another Sunday School Skit
by Michael J. Hotchkiss

About the Play: Water Water is a wacky skit about among other things, water. More than being able to be a liquid solid and gas, it can, also, be a funny subject of a sketch that will float laughter to the surface (and teach a religious lesson on the side.)

Characters:
Sam, a young man
Pam, a young woman

The Scene: A camp
The Time: The present
